Barbara A. Stevic (80) (1935-2016) passed away on January 20, 2016. Barbara was cremated and her ashes were interned in a columbarium at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman, Ohio.

 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Ramicone and her grandchildren, Conner and Callie Stevic; she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Russell; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Denise Stevic; grandchildren, Johnathan, Christian and Anna Stevic.

 

Barbara pursed her passion for teaching by securing a full time position two years before she graduated from Akron University in 1958. Barbara started her teaching career in Cuyahoga

Falls, transferring to Manchester and finally retiring from Springfield. During her teaching years, she was awarded many honors and became a member of several organizations dedicated to honoring good teachers. In one case the teaching honor included a trip the White House for a luncheon with the president. In addition to her teaching organizations, was a proud member of the Order of The Eastern Star Masonic and her college sorority Zeta Tau Alp.

 

A service celebrating her life will be 2 p.m. on Sunday April 10, 2016 at Firestone Park Presbyterian Church, 275 S. Firestone Blvd, Akron, Ohio 44301 with Rev. Susan Curtis officiating.
