Dennis L. Reed, 71, of Akron passed away unexpectedly May 18, 2017. A lifelong resident, Dennis was a graduate of the University of Akron and a member of Masonic Lodge # 649 F & AM.

Preceded in death by his parents, William and Charlotte Reed; brother, Charles Reed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Terry (Baker) Reed; sons, Dennis and Matthew; brother, David (Donna) Reed as well as cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

In 1975 Terry and Dennis founded Yore Newstand in Quaker Square. After the birth of their first son, Dennis, they sold the store (now Rubber City Comics) to have more time for family. Dennis remained in retail management, working the last 32 years for Rite Aid. He continued to work full time as a shift supervisor in the Barberton store with a wonderful group of people he called his “work family”. He shared love, laughter, and the joy of Life with all he met. He was a devoted husband and father who will be missed beyond measure.
