Thomas J. Brady, 90, passed from this life on May 9, 2017. Thomas, a lifelong resident of Akron, was born on September 22, 1926. He attended Kenmore High School and the University of Akron. Serving with the U. S. Navy Amphibious Forces in WWII, Thomas participated in the landings at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Thomas retired from B.F.Goodrich with 41+ years of service and served as a U.R.W. Local #5 Union rep. He was proud to vote Democrat his whole life. Although he enjoyed all sports, Thomas was an avid golfer and was proud of his hole-in-one. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Catherine Brady; sisters Mary Shaw, Elizabeth Blade, and Catherine Willoughby; and brothers Patrick, Edward and John Brady. Survivors include nine nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews. A military service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on May 25 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Visiting Nurse Service, Battered Women’s Shelter or a charity of your choice. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Wings of Love caregivers Janessa and Reva for their considerate care, devotion and love to Thomas  during the final years of his life and to Clear Path caregiver Geneva.
