Harold R. Lloyd, 88 died May 13, 2017 with his family at his side. Mr. Lloyd was born in Marion, Ohio on July 21, 1928. Mr. Lloyd was a 1946 graduate of Marion Harding High School and a 1957 graduate of the Tri State University, Angola Indiana earning a B.S degree in Civil Engineering.
He served in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. He was the lead designer on the Canton Water treatment plant and in 1973 moved to Canton where he was the Project Manager on the design and construction of the Canton WWTP as well as plants in surrounding counties. He was licensed to practice civil and environmental engineering in five states. He belonged to the Ohio Society of Professionals, National Engineers, American Water Works Association, Engineers order of the Ring, Canton Lodge # 60 F & AM, Shrine & AASR of Canton, Stewarts N.S. Transport, Massillon Elks, Massillon American Legion and the Society of American Military Engineers.
He was an avid golfer and loved fishing, trips to Canada and Lake Erie. He always said " I never met a beer I didn't like !".
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years' Betty (Jackson); daughter's, Terri (Randall) Cizek, Jerri Hart (Thomas Brownfield) both living in Canton; four grandchildren, Valerie (Alex) Robbins, Todd Cizek, Michael Rohr and Patrick Hart.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the FORMET-CLEVENGER & GORDON FUNERAL HOME, 1803 N. Cleveland Ave Canton, Ohio 44709. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Masonic Lodge # 60 F & AM. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 349 Lindy Lane N.W., Canton, Ohio 44720 with Pastor Hal Robarge officiating. Entombment to follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
