Xavier B. McMullen, 17, of Akron passed away unexpectedly August 25, 2017. He was born April 19, 2000 in Akron, Ohio to Lisa S. Carswell and Gregory B. McMullen. He was currently in the 11th grade at Akron Digital Academy with his favorite subject being math.

 

He was a member of First Glance and Stop the Violence marches, where he loved being a part of the community festivities. He also liked playing video games and basketball, doing outdoor activities and hanging out with his family and friends. He will be remembered for loyalty, kindness and respect for his family and friends and of course his beautiful smile and sense of humor.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Larry W. McCreery and Edward J. McMullen; he leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Lisa (Vernon) Carswell; father, Gregory; sister, Larisa; brother's, Charles (Lindsey), Aaron and Gregory; grandmother's Elizabeth McCreery and Sandra Shuford; uncle, Joseph McCreery; nephew Charles Carswell IV; great uncle, Henry Ritter; great aunt, Nancy (Jeff) Taylor; god mom, Venus Pickett-Simeton and a host of other siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

 

He will be dearly missed. The family wishes to thank the many relatives, friends and neighbors for their prayers and support during this difficult time. 

 

Friends may call 3-6 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at  the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd Akron, where Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Poole officiating. Private Burial will be held at Lakewood Cemetery.
