A story Gary wanted to share with everyone. Early sixties I bought my first bike off of Roy Butcher for four hundred dollars. It was a 1949 Pam Head tank shift foot clutch. I damn near died learning how to rid it like three times. Sold it to Skinny Brown and bought a fifty six Pam Head off Don Beam, my foreman at Ohio Machine. Choppers were a big thing at that time. The fifty six Head was smoking. Took the motor to Cherry St in Canton for a rebuild top end. I had the fifty six stretched out 7 foot out and up. Back to Roy who did most of the work, out of a little wooded garage with dirt floor and few tools. Roy was a genius! Made my own front end at work. Sold that to Bill Friend and bought a seventy eight and half low rider off of Lance Haag. He needed money to lawyer up. Traded that in at Massalon for an eight eight classic. My most ridden bike I put sixty six thousand miles on. Sold it and I bought a ninety nine Ultra Classic. My last ride. So, if you get em, ride em...I hope it rains.
