George J Vestal

George J. Vestal, 49, of NORTON went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was born on February 16, 1976 in Akron Ohio to George and Vanessa (nee Sherry) Buterbaugh.

He was a veteran of the United States Marines and a truck driver by trade. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and loved Smokey & The Bandit.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Buterbaugh and grandparents, HM and Carol Smith. He leaves behind his mother, Vanessa Sherry; daughter, Vanessa Vestal; sister, Tammy Proehl; brothers, Duke, Ryan and Kris Buterbaugh and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday January 15, 2026 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. A Memorial Service will be held 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
