James E Barclay

We are saddened to announce the passing of James E. Barclay, 84 of New Franklin on May 17, 2026. He was born May 9,1942 in McCaysville, GA to the late Newman and Lucille (nee Chancey) Barclay. 

James will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-four years, Dottie; daughters, Jamie Barclay, Kelli McKeown and Judi Potter; son, David Simmons; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister, Frankie Mafield; brothers, Ronnie Barclay and Chick Dobbins along with several nieces, nephews, sons-in laws and daughter-in law.

James worked at Ohio Brass for twenty- one years and retired from Coventry Township Road Department with twenty-one years of service. He enjoyed traveling with family, fishing and spending time with his fur baby, Max.

James will be greatly missed by his loving family and always remembered in their hearts.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
