Joseph Edward Grenus, 95, of BARBERTON went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2026. He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 8, 1931 to the late Joesph and Mary (nee Baksa) Grenus.
Joseph's parents came from Hungry at an early age. After having little to no education they made sure that all of their children received college degrees and became teachers. Joesph was a graduate of Kenmore High School and earned a master's degree in education from The University of Akron. He spent thirty plus years as a teacher with the Akron Public School system and worked for the City of Akron water department. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing, especially taking those trips to Canada to fish with his brother's.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William. He is survived by his sister, Mary Grenus; brother, Robert (Dorothy) Grenus; nieces and nephews, Karen, Sheila, Jim, Tim, Pam, Dan and sister-in-law, Sally.
Friends may call from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
