Linda N Hughes

Linda N. Hughes, aged 83, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in her hometown of Akron, Ohio. Born on October 21, 1942, in Akron, Ohio. Linda was a beloved figure among her family and friends.

Linda dedicated many years to her career as a medical secretary for CNS, where her expertise and compassion greatly impacted the lives of those she worked with and served. Her commitment to her profession was reflected in the care and support she provided to both patients and colleagues.

A proud graduate of Kenmore High School, class of 1960, Linda carried the values of her education with her throughout her life. She embraced her roles as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, touching the lives of countless individuals with her warmth and love.

Her interests were varied and vibrant; Linda was an avid reader who found joy in the pages of many books. She nurtured her creativity through gardening and crocheting, where her talents blossomed into beautiful creations that graced her home and heart.

Linda's love for animals was equally profound, as she doted on her five kittens: Katie, Emily, Sarah, Tracy, and Genie, who brought her much joy and companionship.

She leaves behind her cherished family, including her sons, Ron (Jerri) Eckberg and Scott (Mindy) Eckberg; her step-sons, Ray (Denise) Hughes, Mike (Vickie) Hughes, and Jeff (Jill) Hughes; as well as her step-daughter, Sherry Hughes. Linda was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart.

Linda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary, and her parents, Earl and Velma (nee Sellers) Kirkbride. Her memory will be forever treasured by those who loved her.

Visitation will be held at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron, on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 1 P.M. at the Funeral Home with Pastor John Lee officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
