Lynda S. Dobbins, 78, of Uniontown went home to be with the Lord, May 14, 2026. She was born June 6, 1947 in Akron, Ohio to the late David and Virginia (nee Thompson) Griffiths.

She was on the Rainbow Advisory Board and a Rainbow Worthy Advisor in 1966 and the Rainbow Drill Team. She was on the Grand Cross of Colors. Lynda was a fifty-year member of the Eastern Star, a floor officer and received all five points. In 1990 Lynda was named Teacher of the Year for the Akron Public Schools and from 1981-1982 she was the Outstanding Young Women of America. In 1994 she was The Book of Who's Who American Teacher of America. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother from 1996-1997, the Worthy Matron Billow Chapter #483 from 2000-2001. She was Akron Court Order of Amaranth treasure for thirty years. A life member of Firestone Park Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and Elder.

In her spare time, she loved to quilt, spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Larry; son, David (Cathleen); grandchildren, Zachary (Danielle), Aaron (Angela), Nate (Lizzy); great grandchildren, Zara, Douglas, Nora, Isla and Claire.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. The Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 6 p.m. by Billow Chapter #483 and an Amaranth service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Firestone Park Presbyterian Church, 275 S. Firestone Blvd Akron, Ohio 44301 with Rev. Lisa Zimmerman officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
