Michael R. Bonay Jr., born on July 15, 1954, in Panama City, Florida, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Barberton, Ohio. He was a cherished family man and dedicated professional, having spent many years as a machinist at Ewart-Ohlson.

Michael was known for his deep love for his family. He found immense joy in spending time with his wife, Diane, as well as his children, Frank (Michelle) Hastings, Danielle (Jeff) Randolph. He is also survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Tom) Nichols and Nicole (Kevin) Moore and sister, Diane Beaty. His legacy of love continues through his six grandchildren who brought him great happiness during his life. Michael was also fondly remembered for the companionship of his beloved dog, Jack, who misses him dearly.

Outside of his family commitments, Michael held a passion for sports, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also enjoyed the strategic challenge of playing chess, often engaging friends and family in friendly matches.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Claudette (nee Bailey) Bonay Sr., who no doubt shaped the values he instilled in his own family.

Visitation will be held on February 4, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, located at 788 Kenmore Boulevard, Akron, OH 44314.

The memories created throughout Michael's life will forever be treasured by all who knew him, as he leaves behind an enduring spirit of love and camaraderie. His family and friends will carry his legacy in their hearts for years to come.
