Carol Furr, 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 2nd, at Bath Manor nursing home in Akron. Carol was born in Gilmer County, West Virginia, but moved to the Akron area when he was quite young. He graduated from Barberton High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Carol was a retiree of Seiberling Tire/ Bridgestone where he held office in the United Rubber Workers union local at Seiberling for a number of years. He lived for many years on Mull Ave in Akron and was known to frequent meetings with friends of Dr. Bob in the Akron area.
He is survived by his sons, Mark Furr (Tina Ferrato) of Kekaha, Hawaii, and Kevin Furr, of Akron, Ohio.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 10th, 2019 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd., Akron, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Carol’s remains will be interred at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, Ohio 44270 where a military service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, January 11th.
