Christine A Treharne

Christine A. Treharne, 55, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, September 27, 2021 after losing her battle with cancer.

Chrissy was a longtime participant in Summit DD centers, she spent many years at Southern Center and Ellet Center. Prior to her illness, she attended Hattie Larlham Constant Companions in Green. Chrissy was fun, ornery, sweet and silly! She loved cats, and enjoyed going to the pet store to visit the kittens. She enjoyed pop, especially Diet Coke, and would do almost anything to get it! She loved Arby's beef ‘n cheddar sandwiches. She had a very extensive stuffed animal collection, she had over 300. Also, she loved Hello Kitty and her favorite color was red.

She was served by REM Ohio, Inc. for a very long time, they were her family. Chrissy had a special relationship with Diana Phillips and Lauri McShane. They loved her very much. Earlier this summer, they made arrangements for Chrissy and her longtime boyfriend, Robert Finnegan, to have a commitment ceremony.

She leaves behind her daughter, Kristin Treharne; sister, Michelle (Jeffrey) Yates; brothers, Wesley (Heather) Casper and George Treharne Sr.

One of her favorite quotes is connected to Fred Rogers. He considered the number “143” to be a very special number. He once said, “It takes one letter to say I and four letters to say love and three letters to say you. One hundred and forty-three.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Schlup Pucak Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron with Fr. Wayne Paul Wright officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to service time.
