Daniel Badgley Obituary

Danny passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 25, 2023. He will be dearly missed. A lifelong resident of Kenmore, he proudly lived in the same house his entire life. He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1968, then attended the University of Akron to study computers. After that, he began working a job he loved at Bank One, in the maintenance department, where he stayed until he retired.

Danny was a huge Star Trek fan from the time the series began, and loved the Beatles from the time they first hopped the pond to the US. Some of his other favorite things included playing computer games, Disney, NASCAR, Jeff Gordon, and all things chocolate. He enjoyed working on cars, and coming up with creative solutions to problems, which were often things he built himself.

In the summer, Danny and his friends frequently traveled cross country in his mobile home, to visit their friends in other states. On Sundays, he was glued to the TV watching NASCAR races or football, depending on the season.

Sometimes gruff on the surface, few people knew his kindness or his generous heart, especially as he took care of his mother for the last ten years of her life.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Otho Badgley, who were lovingly know to all as Aunt Betty and Uncle Oats. He is survived by his brother, Larry Badgley, his sister, Lana Badgley (Starcher), and his niece Phyllis Badgley, as well as numerous cousins.

A graveside service, with Pastor Ed Graves officiating, will be held, Wednesday, March 29, 2023 1:00pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
