Jennifer “Jenny” Blankenship, 79, died unexpectedly on October 15, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas “Tim” and Helen Smith, siblings, Clarita Ventrone, Tom Smith, Hazel Smith, Judy Mellinger, and grandson, Brett Anderson. She is survived by her devoted and adoring husband of sixty years, Stephen “Steve” Blankenship. Also left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her children, Kelli Anderson, Steve (Karen) Blankenship, and Staci Board. Her grandchildren Beau (Courtney) Anderson, Emily (Gunnar) Graham, Abbie and Drew Blankenship, and Konner Board, along with beloved great-grandchildren, Danny, Gemma, and Charlotte Anderson, will miss her deeply. Her brother, Terry (Brenda) Smith, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family will feel her absence.
Jenny was known as “Ma” to so many and will always have a warm place in their hearts. Her beautiful, cross-stitched handiworks will forever be treasured by those for whom she affectionately created them. She loved her family with a vengeance and relished the time she spent with them. She fiercely battled non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma for nearly ten years, stoically enduring treatment and complications simply to be with those she loved. Please come, say goodbye, and share some love and memories with her family as they say farewell to their beautiful wife, mother, and grandmother.
For anyone wanting to send flowers, the family will cherish the beauty they bring to the day. If you choose to donate to a cause, please consider donating to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Schlup-Pucak, & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron Ohio. A brief tribute will take place at 7 p.m.
