John R Lake

John R. Lake, 79, of Akron went home to be with the Lord, August 15, 2023. He was born in Grafton, WV on September 16, 1943 to the late John and Mary (nee Currey) Lake and was an area resident most of his life.

He was a graduate of Copley High School, self employed working in water treatment and a veteran of the United States Marines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carol. He is survived by his sons, Rick (Becky), Mike and Craig (Stacey); five grandchildren, Zack (Lorin), Logan (fiancé, Salone), Riley, Jessa and Cruz; sisters, Karen Grifith and Jean Elsroad and beloved dog, Mimi.

Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home, 788 Kenmore Blvd, Akron. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Pruitt officiating. Burial will take place in Grafton Harmony Grove Cemetery.
