Robert F. O’Bruba, 91, died Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by his wife and sons. Robert (Bob) was born August 7,1932 in Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Hubbard High School, where he met the love of his life, the former, Toni Pucak. They later married on August 23, 1952. A union that lasted 71 years.
Bob was a proud member of the United States Navy, during the Korean War. Upon returning from his service overseas, he was employed at the Sherwin-Williams Container Factory, retiring at the age of 55. He enjoyed coaching youth sports early on, and could later be found cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s various sporting events. Bob enjoyed spending his summers at Conneaut Lake, PA with his family, and his winters in Fort Myers, FL.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife, Toni; sons Dan (Marilyn) O’Bruba, Bob (Michele) O’Bruba; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joanne Vargo O’Bruba. All who knew Bob, will surely miss his sparkling blue eyes and charismatic sense of humor.
Per Bob’s request, no services will be held, but we ask that you lovingly remember him the next time you enjoy your favorite drink, sing along with the oldies, or hear a funny joke.
The family would like to thank The Inn at Poland Way, Cornerstone Caregivers, and Buckeye Hospice for the compassion they gave Bob and his family.
Arrangements are being handled by Schlup-Pucak & Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting The Tribute Wall at www.schluppucakfh.com.
