Thank you for giving us an opportunity to celebrate the life of such a gifted man. And, besides that, one of the nicest individuals I ever knew.

Thank you ALL for this lovely celebration of music, especially Paul Ferguson, CJO and friends, Bill Dobbins, BluJazz and staff, Jeffrey Merrix and his staff for feeding the masses.

Today we come together as teachers, mentors, performers, supporters and lovers of all things music in the name of Roland Paolucci. My Dad would be thrilled and filled with pride and love for this, his family. The Paolucci's are sure of it. See you soon!

Roland was a neighbor of mine on Hartford Avenue when I was growing up. Patsy Pace used to go over and the music of those two great artists was wonderful to hear. The world is so small in so many ways. Ilya, I have heard your name from my son John and wanted to share this memory with you. I pray for peace and acceptance during this difficult time in life. Rest in peace Roland, you had a phenomenal talent that the world will miss.

We were part of that early Jazz Workshop group, and learned so much from Roland. It stood us in good stead as we continued playing trombone in big bands wherever we lived.
I remember Roland as kind, intelligent and a wonderful musician. I know my jazz instincts were honed and sharpened by this marvelous man. He will not be forgotten, as our grandkids already love jazz, and we will pass along those lessons to them as well.
Rest well, sir.

You will never be forgotten. I learned much, and you gave of your knowledge freely. Goodbye my friend
